The aircraft is available in two models: The SWIFT LSA and the SWIFT ULM. The two versions differ in their maximum take-off weight, as well as certain other specifications.
Flight safety has always been of the highest importance throughout the development and construction of the K-10 SWIFT. With a fast-acting ballistic recovery system (К-500 or K-600 COBRA) and a host of other safety features, our aircraft guarantees the safety of pilot and passenger. The K-10 SWIFT has been subjected to numerous static and complete flight tests as part of certification procedures: it has obtained both Ukrainian certification and a Ministry of Transport Certificate in France. We are now carrying out certification procedures in the USA and the EU.
The K-10 SWIFT uses the Rotax 912 ULS engine (100 hp), the most popular choice for two-seat aircraft in its class. It can run on automobile fuel and, combined with the K-10 SWIFT’s aerodynamic design, provides high fuel efficiency: on average the aircraft consumes just 12 or 14 litres per hour (depending on model), reducing fuel costs and allowing for carefree flying. This blend of power and sleek design also results in an impressive maximum speed of 225 km/h (140 mph), with a cruising speed of 165-180 km/h (100-112 mph).
The aircraft has a dual control system ideally suited to use for flight training. Сlassic joysticks and pedals which can be adjusted to suit the pilot’s height and the controls provide a comfortable and enjoyable flying experience. Additionally, the pedal control can be converted to manual control for disabled pilots, catering to individual needs.
The wing provides a high level of stability and unique take-off and landing characteristics. The K-10 SWIFT will land in just 90 m (under 300 feet) or fewer, even on unpaved runways. The wing is a metallic mono-spar with slot lip flaps and ailerons as lifting devices. In addition, it can be easily folded or detached (depending on the model) by two people in ten minutes due to a special fastening device on the wing panel. This is very convenient for transportation and storage, making shipment simple and removing the need for a large hangar to store the aircraft.
Furthermore, the cockpit is designed specifically with comfort in mind. Thanks to a cabin width of 1.2 metres, one of the widest in its class, and individual air-conditioning and heating systems for both pilot and passenger (now standard equipment), the K-10 SWIFT offers a thoroughly pleasant flying experience in any season. The windscreen, providing superb visibility, is composed of aviation Plexiglas, allowing pilot and passenger to enjoy breathtaking scenery.
The fuselage of the K-10 SWIFT has a strong, rugged design, which makes the aircraft highly reliable and ideal for pilot training. Built with aeronautical grade carbon fiber components, the semi-monocoque structure surrounds a central frame of high quality steel.
The landing gear has an extremely robust structure which will allows the pilot to land even on unprepared ground.
A full range of different instrument panels can be installed in the aircraft to cater to a variety of technical and pricing preferences. The location of every instrument on the dash-board is inspected comprehensively to ensure reception of all the information the pilot needs while minimizing distraction.
The aircraft’s large baggage area, with a total volume of 300 L (ULM) or 360 L (LSA), can hold up to 40 kg (88 lbs). The seats can be folded backwards for free access to the baggage area and a basket keeps the goods from moving around in flight. This makes it ideal for camping trips or for carrying specialized equipment.
